Even living in the neighborhood of Pakistan and India, China is 50 years ahead from both of these countries, this was revealed to me while a visit of China. Our friendly country China has gained unprecedented rates of economic growth, development, and poverty reduction during the last two decades.
On the invitation of a Chinese media organization I got a chance to visit different cities and counties of Jiangsu province. Traveling with 9 journalists from 17 media outlets of 14 countries including Spain, Russia, Japan, Germany, Thailand, UAE, Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, South Korea,Vietnam,Malaysia, the Philippines and Uzbekistan, I got a chance to visit Nanjing, Suqian, Yixing and Zhangjiagang city, to experience the unique charm of Jiangsu province.
During this visit almost every journalist was evaluating the growth of china with its own country, and many of them were of the view that China was big giant in the field of economical growth.
But me, a Pakistani civilian was thinking that while living in same continent how china gained such kind of growth, and the answer was "determination, hardworking and smart working”.
Determination of the people who are at helm of affairs, which lead china to a developed country. For example we visited a Suqian, small city of Jiangsu province contained 5.91 million population. Only a decade ago this city was fighting with swear poverty, but now it is the fastest and largest economic growing city of Jiangsu province, My question was, How?, the reply was, just by selling flowers.
An interpreter told us that with the help of local government, the city started to sell their flowers and trees through online . All counties of this city sell its product through online. Shuyang county has planted trees and flowers on 34,666 hectares accounting for Jiangus’s one fifth and China’s one twentieth.
More than 3000 varieties of flowers and trees with annual sale of this county more than 10 billion RMB last year has been logged.
The county has more than 40,000 online shops out of which 35,000 are trading flowers and trees, which is more than 70% of the total. Each minute 243 flower and tree parcels are delivered from this county. He further said that 280,000 rural labor force is engaged to flower deals.
Suqian has promoted a smart integration of internet and local government provided facilities through Internet of Things, which is a fast and efficient way of prosperity.
Now, come to Pakistan side. We have a large agricultural land and like Suqian hundreds of poor villages, if this model is replicated in Pakistan this can also change the fate of those poor farmers which are doing very hard-work to grow their crops and hence living in poverty.
Another example of development we can have from China is their smart health and medical Data center.
Nanjing national health medical data center which is Asia’s largest gene sequencing base with annual sequencing capacity of 300,000-400,000 person would plan to share its technology with Belt and Road Initiative countries. Chinese govt is planning to establish a public experiment platform in intelligent manufacturing park, including overall solution of the digitized workshop, advanced robotic technology application, 3D printing technology, private cloud, and intelligent MRO.
Basing on this public experiment platform, SGIMRI will work with Fraunhofer and local universities for joint R&D activities. The innovation platform will work as technology incubator and incubate relevant technologies, transfer those core technologies into applications in local industries.
Hence, In 2006, Pakistan within assistance of China established its first DNA test laboratory in Islamabad, which later helped to open forensic facilities at all national and provincial capitals. But being a friendly and major co-partner in CPEC Pakistan should ask China to have Pakistani students in these centers to get hands-on-experience. This kind of co-ordination can put Pakistan on the roads of development.
Apart from all these things We the Pakistanis should learn from that society, we should learn to work hard, and abiding the laws of land. During my seven days stay in China I did not saw any vehicle with fancy number plate, or without number plat. I could not see people violating traffic signals.
