Material,\nconstruction techniques and design of the Stupa has its own uniquness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/zameenihaqaiq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_6501-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17864\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Hazara University\nArchaeology Department Head Shakirullah Khan said the heritage site has great\npotential to attract cultural and religious tourists at national and\ninternational level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site possible\nlinked to the Buddhist Civilization of Kushan era and the heritage site is\nspread about 50 Kanal are. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Shakirullah said in the shape of Square\nStupa and Architecture as unique the robbles stones wall with facing as\nfinishing of Kanjor stone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Archaeology Department\nof Hazara University, Mansehra discovered the Buddhist remains during an\nexecuvation under its first scientific field investigation at the site in\nAugust 2019 with the financial support of the Higher Education Commission under\nthe NRPU funded project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/zameenihaqaiq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_6025-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17865\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bado\nDheri is located on the left bank of Gandhian stream, in-between the Karakoram\nHighway and the newly constructed CPEC road. Having remained at the mercy of\nthe antique dealers since long, the site was damaged and looted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfirst season archaeological investigation at the site has brought to light many\nimportant ancient remains (i.e. terracotta potsherds, bones, charcoals, stone\npestles and grinding stones). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But\nthe most important discovery from site is a Buddhist Stupa constructed of\nstones in rubble masonry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traces\nof kanjur facing added to the earlier core of the stupa were also noticed showing\nlater addition. Although no inscriptional records and coins have yet been\nunearthed to assign a proper date to the site, but scientific analysis of the\norganic will help to establish a complete cultural profile of the site, said\nShakirullah Khan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/zameenihaqaiq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/IMG_5993-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17866\" width=\"582\" height=\"388\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The\narchaeological field investigation at Bado Dheri provided an opportunity to the\nstudents of Archaeology and Tourism to get practical exposure in Field\nArchaeology and cultural tourism, he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aimed\nto rescue the site a well as systematically record and reconstruct the history\nof the site before its complete destruction into the hands of the illegal\ndiggers funded the project, the project was initiated by HEC. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further\nwork on the material as uncovered during the excavation is going on and the\nsamples scientific analysis will be able us to put these important ruins in the\nproper context of the Kushan era and history of the region.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the excavation process of the site about 200 students took\npart. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shazia Mehboob Mansehra Remains of a Buddhist Stupa in Square Shape discovered at Bado Dheri Gandhian near Mansehra.
